Richard Alfred Thibodeau

January 15, 1939 — December 8, 2024

Westford, Massachusetts

Richard Alfred "Dick" Thibodeau age 85 and long-time resident of Westford, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital. He was the loving and devoted husband of 60 years to Maureen (Burke) Thibodeau.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on January 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Camille and Adrienne (Latendresse) Thibodeau. Raised and early educated in Lowell, he graduated from Keith Academy and later graduated from Merrimack College.

Dick and Maureen married on September 19, 1964, at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover and soon moved to Westford, where together they raised their loving family.

Dick had a long and distinguished career as a materials manager and production analyst for several local companies and start-ups. In his later years, he worked as a local real estate agent.

An avid sports fan, Dick enjoyed following and rooting for all the New England professional sports teams. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling and continued a long-lasting relationship with his lifelong friends fondly known as the M.O.L.E.S. Dick and Maureen, along with their children, spent many summers vacationing with family in Chatham, Cape Cod, enjoying lobsters and his “famous” gin & tonics. In his later years, he enjoyed spending winter vacation with friends and family in Naples, Florida.

Above all, Dick cherished the time with his family and was so very proud of his grandchildren. He loved gathering with family, often playing games, singing oldies, and dancing. Dick was fully involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives, never missing a sports game, recital, play, school concert, or graduation.

Along with his wife, he will be deeply missed by his children, Michael Thibodeau and his wife Jacqueline, of Bellingham, Massachusetts; Patricia Sergi and her husband Joseph, of Bethesda, Maryland; and Jennifer Fyfe and her husband Daniel, of Littleton, Massachusetts. Affectionally known as “Grampa,” he will be profoundly missed by his loving grandchildren Natalie and Jonathan Thibodeau, Olivia and Kaiden Sergi, and Jackson and Ryan Fyfe.

Family and friends will gather and honor to remember Dick for a period of visitation on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 pm, at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton, MA. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00 A.M at Blessed Trinity Parish - St. Catherine of Alexandria Church. 107 N Main St, Westford. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westford.
