Robert C. Herrmann

Robert Clifton Herrmann, a Westford resident since 1957, died unexpectedly on Sunday May 23, 2021 at the age of 76.

Robert (Bob) was born in Hartford CT on April 14, 1945 to Evelyn (May) and Frank Herrmann. Bob was a graduate of Westford Academy in 1963 where he was known as "Rock" a man of solid build and athletic abilities and Westford Hall of Famer for football and wrestling. Bob went on to study Automotive Repair at The Franklin Institute in Boston MA.

In 1963, he met the love of his life Marie Parrella and they married on October 13,1968 and eventually settled in Westford where they would raise their 3 children. Bob & Marie were active members in the community and at sporting events.

In 1967 Bob opened Bob's Auto Service in Westford MA where he worked along side his sons for over 50 years. Bob was extremely proud of the business he built and he was well known around town for being a hard working, stand up guy. Bob was also a selectman in town from 1985 to 1996.. He also was a cubscout leader and a Junior Wrestling Coach. He served on many town boards and committees through the years, and was he was currently serving on the Zoning Board of Appeals since 1999 and was a School Board Trustee for many years.

Over the last several years, Bob spent most of his summers in Ocean Park Maine where he and Marie enjoyed biking riding and relaxation. Bob was a loving husband and Grandfather, he was the happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren with whom he made many precious memories.

Bob is survived by his wife Marie, his sons Marc Herrmann and wife Sara, Brian Herrmann and wife Kristen, daughter, Kate (Herrmann) Overton and husband John Overton, his grandchildren, Madisyn, Emma, Abigail and Jack Herrmann, Nicholas and Anthony Overton. As well as his sisters Linda Maynard, Bette Daley and brother Carl Herrmann & his wife Cindy and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Bob for visiting hours on Wednesday, May 26 from 4:00-7:00 pm at BADGER FUNERAL HOME, 347 KING ST., LITTLETON.
