Robert J. Lamy

Robert J. Lamy age 80 and long-time resident of Groton passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Apple Valley Center in Ayer. He was the husband of the late Jean Morton-Lamy who passed away September 2017 after being together for 50 years.

Born in Lowell on October 17, 1937 he was the son of the late Lionel and Rita Lamy. He leaves his brother Andrew and wife Priscilla of Groton and Leo and his wife Jane Lamy of Pepperell.

Robert graduated from Groton High School. He worked as a machine repair technician with Veryfine Juice Company in Littleton for several years. He was also a skilled welder and talented wood carver and woodworker. Robert also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his children, Robert J. Lamy, Jr., Randall Lamy, Richard Lamy and Rene Lamy all of New Hampshire, Ronald Lamy of Missouri and daughters Rose Witt of Nebraska and Rita Early of Texas. He is also survived by his stepchildren Tim and Debbie Morton, Rose Morton, Dan and Beth Morton all of Townsend, Jon Morton of Lunenburg and Steven and Sally Morton of Groton. He was blessed with many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren that will miss him dearly.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Robert on Saturday, May 26that the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School St., Groton from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, a family centered service will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial at a later date in Groton Cemetery will be private.
