Robert “Big Nap” Salvatore Napoli, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, at just 59 years old. Robert was born in Concord, Massachusetts, on August 11, 1965.
Robert was married to Cindy, the love of his life, for 31 amazing years. Their relationship started when they were teenagers and grew into a commitment filled with love, devotion, and a bond that inspired everyone who knew them. Although their time together was far too short, they filled their days with unforgettable memories. Whether they were going out to dinner, bar hopping, catching live music, or simply enjoying time together, they embraced every moment side by side. Robert especially cherished the time spent with his children. They shared many special moments together, cooking, listening to music, going to the beach, and playing Uno.
A blue-collar man through and through, Robert began his career as a truck driver working side by side with his father at R. Napoli & Son, Inc. This time in his life was the foundation that gave him a strong work ethic and the opportunity to form lifelong friendships. Robert believed deeply in hard work and the importance of providing for his family, values he instilled in his children through both his words and his example. He was a long-time member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4 and loved to talk about the projects he worked on and share stories about the people he worked with.
Robert graduated from Littleton High School in 1983 and attended Fitchburg State University. He was active in sports and coached Pop Warner football. He loved going to the beach and vacationing in Dennis, Massachusetts. He had a deep love of music and enjoyed sharing that with his family and friends, whether by introducing them to new artists, sharing his favorite songs, or simply talking about the artists that moved him. Robert was a gentle giant who was kind, sincere, and made everyone feel heard. He was smart, quick-witted, and could have a meaningful conversation with anyone. Robert loved dogs and was fond of the Pit Bull breed. His late dog Daisy held a special place in his heart.
Robert’s presence filled a room, and his absence leaves a hole that will never be filled.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Napoli, his son Charles “Rocco” Napoli, his son Joseph Napoli, and his beloved daughter, Sophia Napoli. He is also survived by his beloved parents, Doris and Robert Napoli of Littleton, MA. His sister Lisa Owen and brother-in-law Lawson Owen of Cornelius, NC, as well as his beloved nephews and nieces, and his dog, Bosco “Goober” Beans.
