Robert Allen Riley, Jr., age 66 of Tyngsborough, formerly of Littleton, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 37 years to Madeleine R. (Hackert) Riley.
Born in East Boston, Massachusetts, on September 9, 1959, he was the loving son of Margaret R. “Margie” (Jenkins) Riley and the late Robert A. Riley Sr., who died in 2023. Bobby and his parents lived in East Boston and moved to Dorchester, then Littleton, when he was 9 years old. Educated in Littleton, graduating from Littleton High School in 1978. He worked at the Maynard Boys Club. The Boys Club team encouraged Bobby to continue his education. He attended Fitchburg State University and transferred to and graduated from Mount Wachusett Community College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. During the summers, Bobby worked at W. R. Grace in Lexington (Bob Sr's place of employment) and an adult living community in Clinton.
Bob and Madeleine married on November 12, 1988, in St. Anne's Catholic Church in Littleton and lived in Lowell and Tyngsboro for many years. He worked in the VA Voluntary Services for the Veterans Affairs office.
During his spare time, he shared what he was passionate about. He was a sports enthusiast with deep knowledge and high engagement in attending, watching, and analyzing sports. He enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. Many will miss his videos of Vegas rock and roll and Finnish metal bands. He enjoyed surrounding his life with collections of items that touched his heart... hand-painted cartoon cells, sports memorabilia, art, sculpture, and "I am a fan of advertisements" items. He enjoyed the quiet times for learning history and current events. He was a pizza enthusiast. He was a member of The American Legion. People noticed his big, fun, playful
Along with his wife and mother, Bob is survived by Don and Rose (Jenkins) Hair, Donald and Carmel Jenkins, Gerald and Maureen Jenkins, John Jenkins, Bobby Ohlson, Mary Riley, and all the cousins, too.
Services at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton, will be private.
