Roscoe Denault

June 4, 1925 — March 31, 2010

PEPPERELL - Roscoe Denault of Pepperell and formerly of Tewksbury and Wilmington, died on March 31, 2010. He was 84 years old. Roscoe was born on June 4, 1925, in Pepperell and was a son of the late Noah M. and Effie (White) Denault.


As a young man, Roscoe worked on several local farms. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 25 and served during the Korean War. After completing his military service, Roscoe worked as a truck driver for Swift and Co. and Grossman's. He then worked for the Town of Wilmington for eleven years. Prior to his retirement, Roscoe returned to farming, working for the State of Massachusetts as a herdsman at the Tewksbury Hospital. In retirement, Roscoe spent much of his time traveling and visiting with his children and their families.


Roscoe is survived by his children, Dan Denault and his wife Diane of Salem, NH, Linda Saulnier of Wilmington, Stephen Denault and his wife Susan of Pepperell, and Brian Denault and his wife Terry of Stone Ridge, NY; his eleven grandchildren, Kimberly, Michelle, Rachel, Lauren, Scott, Tim, Matt, Joshua, Kristen, Susie and Jimmy; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Violet Wilson of Pennsylvania, and Betty Denault of Massachusetts, and his former wife and good friend, Lillian LaCrosse. He is pre-deceased by his brothers, Noah Denault, Lenny Denault, and Harold Denault, and a stepbrother, John Mosher.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. at the MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 16 Pleasant St., Pepperell, MA.
