Roy E. Fischer 89 of Groton, formerly of Palm Springs, CA, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2015 at Genesis Westford House in Westford. He was born in Boston on August 5, 1925 son of the late Margaret Fischer. He was a longtime resident of Palm Springs CA before moving to Groton in 2004.
Roy served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict in the 8th Infantry Division from 1951-1953. In his younger years he loved to write and sing music, enjoyed traveling and dabbled in restaurant ownership.
Mr. Fischer is survived by his loving family: Louise Collins of Groton, Patricia and Bill McCarthy of Newton, NH, Al and Margaret Collins of Groton, Bob and Rainier Collins of Groton, Andrew Collins of Groton, Richard G. Harris Jr. and Richard Harris III of Kingston, NH. Karin and Tim Madden of Connecticut and Alvin and Jennifer Collins of North Carolina
Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday Jan 22, 2015 at the Badger Funeral Home 45 School Street Groton from 10 -11 am with a Funeral Service to follow at 11am. Burial at Dell Park Cemetery Natick.
