Ruth B. Trowbridge, 93, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2016 surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health. She was born on April 25, 1923, the daughter of the late Remi and Evelyn (Lacroix) Lagasse.
Ruth was educated in the Pepperell School System. She was married in 1948 to Robert A. Trowbridge who died in 1987. She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Parish, worshipping at St. Joseph Church in Pepperell and was active in many parish activities. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved to knit and crochet. She enjoyed tatting and ceramics and was an avid reader. Ruth was a Kindergarten Aide at Peter Fitzpatrick School, a job she loved, retiring in 1988. In her later years, Ruth enjoyed taking long Sunday drives with her daughter accompanied by her beloved dog, Ruby on her lap. She also enjoyed playing endless games of Trouble with her great-grandson, Charlie.
Ruth will mostly be remembered for her beautiful smile, her loving, nurturing, sweet and peaceful manner as well as her strong and unwavering faith in God. We are all heartbroken by her loss and she will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Trowbridge and wife, Cathy and a daughter, Ann Marie Trowbridge, all of Pepperell; several grandchildren, a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was pre-deceased by her husband of 39 years, Bob Trowbridge, her siblings, Anita, Adrien, Maurice, Gerard, Annette and Lauretta Lagasse, Germaine Markham and Yvette Peabody.
