Ruth Wolfson passed away in her sleep November 1, 2021, in Bridges by Epoch at Nashua, NH. She was 94.
Ruth was born on January 17, 1927, in Ayer, MA. She was the daughter of James W. Dodds and Ethel D. (Wright) Dodds. She is pre-deceased by her husband and her significant other. She is survived by her children.
She graduated nursing school at Mount Auburn Hospital in 1948. On August 20, 1950, she married William Walter Wolfson II in Littleton MA. After his enlistment in the army ended, they moved to Boston. In 1955 the couple gave birth to Kathleen Ellen Wolfson.
The couple moved to Fishkill, NY and in May of 1958 William Walter Wolfson III was born.
Ruth was active in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the Van Wyke Homestead Museum, running the gift shop there for many years.
After 53 years of marriage, Ruth was widowed. She then attended her 63th high School class reunion where Ruth rekindled her relationship with John W. Hathaway. They lived together until he passed away.
Ruth's mother died when she was young. Ever since then the smell of a large collection of flowers made her relive the sad feelings.
So, please no flowers. Instead, a donation to ALZ.org or your favorite charity would be a blessing.
A private service for just the family will be held in the cemetery in Fishkill, NY in the future.
