S. Elayne Hatch- Finney

Elayne Hatch – Finney aka Nina, 75, of Northborough suddenly passed on November 14, 2022 at UMass Worcester surround by her family. She was the wife of William E. Finney. 

Elayne was born in Newton, MA on August 27, 1947, to Gilbert and Helen (Specter) Milton. She was raised in Watertown and Maynard along with her sister Kathi. She attended Maynard High School and graduated class of 1965. Elayne’s career at Digital Equipment Corporation, started in 1966, She had many Careers over the years starting as a key-punch operator. Her favorite jobs include managing and starting-up the Digital Data Center in Colorado Springs, Headquarters Customer Satisfaction Manager in Maynard and Westborough, Event Manager for Services and Engineering. Once she retired, she enjoyed her career and babysitting her grandchildren Brian, Jesyca, Peyton, Nicholas and Matthew – gardening with the kids, baking cookies, trips to the local parks, bike rides, trips to the beach, vacations at the beach and Disney. She has so many stories, pictures and mystery rides, these 5 adorable kids were her heart-beat. 

Elayne’s enjoyment of gardening can be seen by everyone. Everyone knew she had a green thumb. She also had a huge love for golf and would spend multiple days a week throughout the nice weather at her favorite golf course, Juniper Hill Golf Course. She also spent every year going on her girl’s vacations with her daughter and her two granddaughters to York Beach Maine. She also had the chance to travel to Italy with her husband, son and family. The next big trip was to Ireland with her husband for two beautiful weeks of traveling, from one side of Ireland to the next, with castles and of course lots of golf. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. 

Elayne leaves behind her son Michael and his wife Maryann Hatch of Northborough and their son Brian Hatch and daughter in-law Sheneil, and Nicholas and Matthew Hatch. She also leaves behind her daughter Nyomi Hatch and her husband Scott Nix of Sudbury and her daughters Jesyca and Peyton and her sister Kathi Milton of Kennebunk, ME. 

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Elayne for a period of visitation on Friday November 18, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton MA. Elayne's graveside service will be held on Saturday November 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery, 260 Great Rd, Maynard, MA 01754.
