Sally Hurley Obituary

Sally Ann Hurley, 68, a resident of Dunstable, died on April 5, 2016 from complications after a lengthy illness. Sally was the daughter of the late John Hurley and Ann Hurley of Woburn.  She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Juan Amodei, her stepchildren, Maria Amodei of Dunstable and Richard Amodei and his wife Leslie of Carlisle, and her beloved step grandchildren, Derrick and Amelia Amodei also of Carlisle, as well as her sister, Louise Murphy of Florida and her husband John.

Sally graduated from Woburn High School and Katharine Gibbs School and also attended Lasell College until her mother’s illness required her to leave school. Sally had a long and successful career as an executive secretary and administrative assistant in several companies that included Itek Corporation, Sanders Associates and BAE Systems. She was extremely well organized, conscientious and efficient, both at home and at work where nothing was ever left undone or behind schedule. She loved gardening,  was an outstanding cook, and she designed and made beautiful clothes as well as using her talents to pick the most attractive and elegant fashions for herself and many of her friends.

Sally’s loving, caring. selfless and generous nature will always be remembered by her family and the friends that had the pleasure of knowing her well. Even in her final weeks, her thoughts and concerns were always for those she would leave behind and not herself. She will be missed immensely.

Sally will be buried in a private ceremony at the Dunstable Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in her memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box
