Sandra I. Hanson

July 31, 1942 — April 5, 2016

Sandra I. (Gibson) Hanson, age 73 of Pepperell died April 5, 2016 at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of William H. Hanson with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
She was born in Marlborough, MA, the daughter of the late Sidney P. and Rita (Magoon) Gibson. She was educated in the Marlborough School System and graduated from Marlborough High School. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of West Townsend.
While living in Pepperell for the past 27 years, she volunteered at the Pepperell Senior Center, was a member of the Friends of Seniors, the Pepperell Woman's Club and also volunteered at the V.A. Hospital in Bedford, MA. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and loved knitting and crocheting and her trips to Cape Cod and North Conway, NH. Most of all Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves a son, William P. Hanson of Marlborough, MA; three daughters, Lisa Seeley and partner Linda of Franklin, MA, Karen Girard and husband David of Hudson, MA and Julie Roscoe and husband Michael of Pelham, NH; two brothers, Sidney Gibson and wife Betty and William Gibson and wife Debbie; a sister, Elizabeth Cropley; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Carvalho and Linda Gibson; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and many great friends. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Robert, Charles, and John Gibson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Service of Worship and Remembrance to be held on April 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 465 Main Street, West Townsend, MA 01464.
