Stephen Joseph Esielionis, 69, of Shirley, passed away at home on Wednesday September 1, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Sally Wood.
Steve was born on October 9, 1951, in Shirley, the son of the late John and Josephine (Jarski) Esielionis. Raised in Shirley, Steve graduated Ayer High School and attended the University of MA in Amherst. He was employed at Bemis Corporation for over 20 years during which time he was introduced to his future wife, Sally, by her sister.
In Steve's spare time he could often be found with family and friends enjoying a spirited game of poker or cribbage. He was a true Red Sox and Patriots fan and could be found rooting for them, both on TV and while attending the occasional game. Steve was very much into music and loved going to concerts and reminiscing and sharing his deep knowledge of old songs and bands with friends. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed his time spent in the Florida Keys and Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
In addition to his wife, Stephen is survived by his brothers David Esielionis of Shirley, Michael and Susan Esielionis of Leominster, his sister Barbara Kelley of Madison, CT, and his sister-in-law Jackie Esielionis of Shirley as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Frank Esielionis.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Steve for a period of visitation on Tuesday September 21, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. Funeral service and burial at sea will be private.
