Suzan Rae Davis, a compassionate and creative soul, passed away on May 8, 2026. Her life was defined by her charismatic, joyful personality along with an unwavering dedication to her community and family.
Born in Attleboro on January 16, 1959, Suzan was a graduate of Becker Junior College, where she trained as a Medical Secretary. Early in her career, Suzan was a secretary at Digital Corp. in Maynard, MA, a prominent employer at the time. She eventually found her niche in the medical field as an Operating Room Schedular for Dr. Fred Lea, OBGYN at Emerson Hospital.
Suzan’s career eventually took a deeply personal turn when she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This allowed her to become the primary caretaker for her mother beginning in 1999 when she became ill. She spent the next twelve years as her mother’s caregiver until Shirley was admitted to an Assisted Living Facility. Suzan became an employee at Littleton Life Care, at which time her father was a patient. She continued to be his devoted CNA until his passing in 2019.
This extensive experience in caregiving led her to become the center’s Assistant Activities Director. In this role, Suzan used her natural creativity to become an essential part of the lives of the patients in the Dementia Unit, where her empathy and vibrant spirit made her irreplaceable in the lives and hearts of the patients as well as their families.
As a resident of Littleton, Suzan found joy in life’s simple pleasures – whether that be soaking up the rays at Salisbury Beach or expressing her creativity through her crafts with the patients in the dementia unit.
Above all, her family and friends were her heart. She was a devoted mother to her son, Jeffery Mann, and his significant other, Samantha, Penni’s Mom. She was a loving sister to Betsy Smith (and her husband Tom) and Lauren Nealley. Her greatest light however, was her granddaughter, Penelope “Penni” Rae Mann, who was the absolute apple of her eye.
Though preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Shirley Davis, Suzan’s legacy of kindness and joy live on in those that knew her.
We invite you to celebrate her beautiful and exuberant life by sharing memories and photos on her memorial page. Her spirit remains a guiding light for all who knew her.
