Tamar E. (Erkkinen) Vernatter age 62 of Shirley, MA and Brownsville, TX, formerly of Littleton and Stow passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. She was the loving wife of Claude E. Vernatter.
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 3, 1956 the daughter of Debra (Sewall) Finnegan of Acton and the late Joseph Erkkinen.
Raised and educated in Stow, Tamar graduated from Nashoba High School. She married and soon settled in Littleton. Tamar was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she worked for many years as an administrator in the retail services field prior to her retirement. Tamar and Claude wintered in their Brownsville, TX home and traveled back to New England every summer. She enjoyed spending time with her family, horseback riding, hiking and doing many different craft projects.
Along with her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Adam J. Vernatter of Shirley and her daughter Emily E. Kane and her husband Chris of Littleton, her grandchildren, Mark, Alexander and Jason as well as her brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Tamar on Friday, Sept. 7 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton. Her funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
