Terry [Esther] Stern of Wellesley, MA, and Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 88 years old.
Terry lived a wonderful life filled with love and joy. She was married to her beloved husband, Duke, for 60 years until his passing in 2015 after his own battle with ALS. Together, they created a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories.
Terry is survived by her son, Andrew, and his wife, Marianne, of Westford, MA; her daughter, Jennifer Clough, of Boynton Beach, FL; and her son, Peter, of Easton, MA. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Lauren and her husband Brian, Drew, Julia, Joshua, Zachary, Tyler, and Vanessa, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Known for her charm and impeccable sense of style, Terry had a deep appreciation for the arts, from music to painting. She could light up any room with her presence, and there was nothing more romantic than watching her and Duke dance together. Terry also had a special love for her golden retrievers, who brought her much happiness over the years.
Her quick wit and intelligence were matched by her unwavering determination, which served her well in advocating for her children and others. Terry’s sense of humor and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Terry’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or the ALS Association.
