Theodore (Ted) G. Gentile, Retired Army Sergeant Major, Died June 3, 2013. Born and educated in Chicago Illinois, he was drafted into the Military Service April, 1953. He served tours of duty with the Queen of Battle, Bomb Squad (EOD), Engineer, Ordinance, and Adjutant General Corps. Assignments included University of California, Berkeley, Oakland High Schools, Oakland California ROTC, Army Japan, Allied Forces Central Europe, the Netherlands, Korea, Vietnam, and Department of Defense, Washington, D.C. His personal awards include the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Department of Defense Identification Badge. He was known for his work of empowerment to individuals, to assist in the control of their destiny both in the business world, and in their personal moral sense. Ted's life trait was demonstrated during his military service, civilian career and his volunteer involvement after his retirement; his efforts were recognized by both his superiors and subordinates. He took a strong interest in local, state and federal government. His major concern in life was the development of his children's life directions and the strongest of love for his wife, children and grandchildren. His last military assignment was that of Post Sergeant Major, Fort Devens, Massachusetts.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn of 53 years, his daughter Marilyn and husband Dan Schwartz, Son Ted and his wife Sally Gentile, Daughter Christine and husband Charles D 'Angelo, Daughter Cynthia and husband Rob Tilton. He has eight Grand Children and many nephews and nieces.

Visiting hours at the MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME 16 Pleasant St. Pepperell, MA. on Thursday from 2-4 PM. Funeral services on Friday June 7, 2013 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Buried with military honors at the Pepperell Cemetery in Pepperell.
