Theresa Ann Simmons

Theresa Ann (Thorne) Simmons, age 87, passed away peacefully at home with family on Friday January 4th 2019. She was the loving wife of Charles W. Simmons for 62 years, who passed in August of 2013. She is survived by her eight children: Thomas W. Simmons of Barrington NH, Richard A. Simmons of Barrington NH, Robert F. Simmons of Warner Robins GA, David C. Simmons of Fayette ME, James E. Simmons of Pepperell MA, Wes Simmons of Townsend MA, recently deceased, Cheryl A. Tremblay of Pepperell MA, Cathleen M. Bustead of Merrimack NH; Ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late H. Valerie Bradbury of Pepperell MA, Eugene Thorne of Keene NH, Jane Rhodes of Bolton MA, Suzanne Gray of Cambridge MA and Ruth Ellen Mosley of Fairbanks AK. Theresa was born on December 30th 1931 in Cambridge MA to Earl E. and Helen V. (McKinnon) Thorne. She grew up in Cambridge MA. In July of 1951 she married Charles Simmons. Early in their marriage they moved to Pepperell MA, where they raised their eight children, and instilled the love of God and family. She worked as a nursing aide at Freeman Nursing home in Pepperell for twelve years, and was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Pepperell. Theresa was a loving Wife, Mother, and Nana. Her greatest joy was seeing the love her children had for each other, and her grandchildren’s tight bond. She will be greatly missed, and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Visiting Angels and Circle Home for their exceptional care.

A funeral mass will be held At Our Lady of Grace Parish, worshipping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell Street, Pepperell, MA at 11a.m. on Friday January 11th. A luncheon will follow at the Pepperell VFW 55 Leighton St. Pepperell MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Grace Parish, Worshipping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell Street, Pepperell, MA 01463.
