Coalter, October 26,2014 Mr. Thomas R. Coalter, Jr. 59, of Shirley, MA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones on Sunday,. Thomas was born in Lowell, MA on July 19, 1955. He was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Lou (Taylor) Coalter. Thomas was a graduate of Ayer High School class of 1973. He worked at Cains Foods, Inc. as a plant supervisor for the past 38 years, and was also a part time bartender at The Nashoba Club in Ayer, MA.
Tom was an avid sports enthusiast, who was a great athlete himself in his younger years. His heart belonged to the Celts, Bo Sox, Pats and Bruins. He could answer any sports trivia question ever asked, as his adoring grandchildren soon found out, continually trying to stump their "grampy". Tom lived for his family and enjoyed spending quality time with them. Tom will always be remembered by family and friends as a kind, compassionate, soft spoken, gentle man who when he spoke, spoke volumes.
He leaves his loving wife of 19 years, Marianne (Tilburg) Coalter, and 3 children, Jeffrey deHorsey of Leominster, Jennifer Hines of Westminster, and Ryan Soubosky and her Husband Bob of Leominster, MA. Loving Grandfather of Keith, Casey, Lukas, Aislinn, Tavish, Nick, Emma, Cam, Colin, Sean, and the families' special angel Megan. Cherished brother of Denise Coalter of West Groton, and Dorothy Wicks of Townsend and her late husband Bill, and his Aunt, Deborah Senecal of Ayer, MA. Thomas is also survived by his nephew Billy Wicks, his wife Quinn and their two children, Tommy and Julia; and nephew Kevin Wicks.
