Thomas K. Forest

June 1, 1947 — April 23, 2018

Thomas "Tom" Forest, 70, of Orange passed away from cancer surrounded by his family on Monday, April 23rd. Born in Pittsfield, MA on June 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Shirley (Freda) Forest of Orange.

Formerly married to Jean Baker of Orange, he celebrated his 40-year marriage anniversary to Cheryl (Walker) in February.

Tom was employed by the Town of Orange as Superintendent of Cemeteries for over 40 years. He was active on the Town Planning Board in Orange and was well known by local officials.

Somewhat of a social butterfly, Tom greatly enjoyed visiting with friends, "people watching", long rides in his car around town, the outdoors, doing computer graphics, and taking walks with his dog, Buddy.

Predeceased by his parent and wife Cheryl, he leaves behind his two sons; Sean Forest of Northampton, MA, and Thomas Jr. of Orange, MA; step-daughter, Niki and husband, Michael Parzyck of Pittsfield, MA; step-son Charles and wife Laura Cote of Pelham, NH; sister, Sandy and her husband Ronald Jones of Zephyrhills, Fl; grandchildren, Paige of Morgantown, WV, and Paiton of Dallas, TX; and three nephews, Jon and wife Lori Gilbert of Newport Richey, Fl, Guy Gilbert of Northfield, MA, and Philip and wife Shirley of Brattleboro, VT. He also leaves great-nephews and nieces.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Tom on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Fisk-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA
