Thomas Landrigan, 57, of Littleton, formerly of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the devoted husband of Catharine M Carruth and beloved father of Charles Thomas Landrigan and Reina Catharine Landrigan, all of Littleton.
Tom was born in Concord on November 21, 1960, to Tilda T. (Finocchio) Landrigan of Bedford and the late Robert Landrigan. Raised in Bedford, MA and Colorado Springs, CO he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard after high school and proudly served his country for 26 years on active duty in New London and Key West, and reserve duty on Cape Cod achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. During that time, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, and went on to make his living designing solutions to complex mechanical problems, most recently as a principal mechanical engineer at Sterilis Medical, LLC in Boxboro.
In 2000, Tom and Katie married and made their home in Littleton. He was known as a profoundly kind and gentle family man who radiated quiet care, infinite patience, and a lightning-quick wit. Among his many talents, Tom could reliably be counted upon to repair all manner of broken machinery, restore a wreck to roadworthiness, and generally renew trash into treasure. Tom was equally at ease on the sea or on land, always happy to seize an opportunity to trail the byways of New England by motorcycle, preferably with a relative or a friend (often one and the same) along for the ride. He had a passion for BBQ, reading, kites, and cars of all kinds, but especially his beloved Chevelle SS. Above all else, Tom delighted in spending time with his wife, children, and extended, much devoted family.
Along with his wife, Katie, his children, Charlie and Reina, and his mother, Tilda, Tom is survived by his sisters, Ellen Landrigan of Gloucester, Betsy Janzen of Melrose, and Denise de Filippi of Lexington, his brother, Chris Landrigan of Lowell, their families, his extended Carruth family, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Tom on Sunday, July 15 from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 16 at 10:00 in St. Anne Church, 75 King Street, Littleton.
