Thomas William McNiff IV, of Harvard, passed away on Tuesday, August 09, 2022, at Fitchburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by his family at the age of 74.
Born on January 17, 1948, Thomas was the son of the late Thomas W. III and Mary (Glavey) McNiff. Thomas grew up in Littleton with his six brothers and sisters. Tom married Pauline Dimitruk in 1967 and started a family soon after. He was the Short Order Cook at the Monarch Diner in Littleton Center for years. He was passionate about all aspects of horse racing and at one time owned and raced a thoroughbred. Later in life he resumed his passion by working at Royal Breeze Thoroughbreds in Harvard.
Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas McNiff and his wife Sheila of Lunenberg, and Sharon McNiff of Shirley. He is also survived by his siblings; Mary Ellen Sweeney of Kennebunk, ME, Michael McNiff and his wife Katy of Westford, James McNiff and his wife Sheryl of Littleton, Daniel McNiff and his wife Wanda of Shirley, Maureen McNiff and her partner Marian of Wells, ME, and Kathleen Raffi and her husband Ronald of Littleton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sean, Brandon, and Zachary as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom is predeceased by his late wife, Pauline Dimitruk.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Tom for a graveside service on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Westlawn Cemetery, 7 New Estate Road, Littleton.
