Ulrike (Suderow) Sarcione, age 80, of Wells, Maine, formerly of Melrose, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Salem, New Hampshire. She was the wife of the late Edward Vincent Sarcione.

Born on June 5, 1945, in Rhaden Germany & she was the daughter of the late Hans Herman Suderow and Anneliese (Schwaab) Suderow.

Ulrike moved to the United States with her mother and brother in 1960 and settled in Lexington, Massachusetts. Graduated from Lexington high school in 1964 and several years later received her BA from UMASS Boston while raising her three children as a single mother. She was married to former husband John Bernidakis Sr. and the love of her life Edward Vincent Sarcione of Lawrence, Massachusetts. She had a long and distinguished career as a German and French Teacher at Newton-Wellesley HS, Concord-Carlisle HS and for a short period of time Melrose HS. Ulrike enjoyed trips to Germany with her students.

During her spare time and retirement, she enjoyed the beach in every way either laying in the sun or walking for miles in the sand. Her and Ed loved going to Florida to be able to continue to be in the sun at the beach during the winter months. She had a notorious green thumb, growing vegetables and tending to her beautiful HGTV like flower garden.

She is survived by her eldest daughter Helena Manning-Shannon and husband Peter Shannon. Children of her late husband Donald Manning of West Bridgewater, Mass. Grandchildren are David Manning, wife Jessica and grandchildren Eliana and Benjamin of Germantown, Maryland. Grandson Jacob Manning wife Funmi of Fairfax, VA. Granddaughter Karissa and husband Liam Marquis of Raynam, Mass with a child due any day. Daughter Stellica and beloved son-in-law Lewis J. MacDonald of Derry, NH. Grandchild Sarina, wife of Brian Goodwin and great grandchildren Aleah and Adley of Londonderry, NH. Grandchild Kayla MacDonald of Derry, NH. Son John Bernidakis Jr. of Haverhill, Mass and former wife and mother of his children Melissa Holden of Salem, Mass. Grandsons Nicholas and Jason. Brother Detlev Suderow and wife Ellen Beth Lande of Brookline, Mass. Nephew Alexander Sasha and wife Freesia and a great nephew Ilan and great niece Aila. Nephew Max and his wife Erica and grand nieces Maya and Naomi.

Beloved cousin Margot and husband Barry and their children Trevor and wife Alyssa Sage-El along with their children Mary and Frank. Madeleine and husband Alex Ciliotta-Young and their children Ola Mae, Lea and Kenneth. Newlyweds Olivia and Austin Johnson.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Ulrike on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 1:00pm at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton.
