Vannarin "Vann" Socheata Ly, age 39, of Littleton passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was the loving and devoted husband of Elizabeth M. (Payeur) Ly and cherished father of Evangeline "Evie" and Oliver "Ollie" Ly.
Vannarin, the son of Saksatha and Siv Eng Ly, was born in Kampong Cham, Cambodia on March 24, 1979. In order to provide a better life for Vann and escape the Khmer Rouge, his parents relocated to the United States in 1981, settling in Lexington, Massachusetts. Vann graduated from Lexington High School in 1997. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 2001 and was a member of the Lambda Iota Society.
Vannarin always loved technology. He began his career as a Software Engineer at Technology Solutions Experts and went on to become a Project Manager at XPO Logistics. He excelled everywhere he went, became a leader, and made everyone around him better.
Vann and Elizabeth met through friends, fell in love, and married on July 29, 2011 in Groton, Massachusetts. They settled in Littleton with their children Evie and Ollie. Family was the center of Vann's life. He was a loving husband and father, and his time with his wife and children meant the world to him. From birthday celebrations to holiday gatherings like Chinese New Year, Vann always loved surrounding himself with family, fun and food.
The special bond Vann shared with his close friends was a joy to see and deeply important to all of them. Vann loved watching Boston sports teams and playing sports with his friends including Top Gun softball, bowling, soccer, kickball and hosting beer pong tournaments. He was the resident DJ of Club Curtis and The Whitman Lounge. Vann also dabbled in organizing social events such as Boston Bar Golf Pub Crawl and Boston Bar Golf Booze Cruises. Vann's friends were there for all the great times and celebrations, and supported him always. Vannarin's A-Team will continue carrying on his legacy.
Vann may have been a low key guy, but he had a flare for life. He was loved and admired by anyone who was fortunate enough to have met him. He had a way of quickly making a genuine and lasting impact. People naturally gravitated towards Vannarin because of his gentle soul, infectious smile, and sense of humor.
