Walter Protasowicki

Walter Protasowicki, 88, of Littleton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home on October 6, 2025. He was the loving husband of 65 years to his wife, Delia Protasowicki.

Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Maria Protasowicki. He and his wife, Delia, met at the age of 18 and later married in 1960. They immigrated to the United States in 1967, where they raised their three sons, spending most of their years in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Walter worked as an independent barber in Boston for over 30 years before retiring in the late 1990s. He was deeply devoted to his family and especially enjoyed frequent day and weekend trips to Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Among his favorites were Sunday drives to Castle Island in Boston, which always included a long family walk ending with a stop at Sullivan’s for fried clams.

A true “do-it-yourself” craftsman before the days of Home Depot, Walter single-handedly transformed a fixer-upper in Quincy into a warm and welcoming home, which he shared with family and tenants over the years. Delia loved to garden, and Walter was her loyal landscaper —always ready to dig new vegetable beds, move flower gardens, or transplant bushes and small trees. In his later years, Walter adored his grandchildren and loved sharing stories about them.

In addition to his wife, Delia, Walter is survived by his three sons, their wives, and his nine grandchildren. Walter was the oldest of three brothers. He was predeceased by his brother Alex and is survived by his youngest brother, George.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 9:00 AM, at Blessed Trinity Parish-St. Anne Church.
