William E. Arrington

William E. Arrington, 74, of Westford, MA, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He is the loving husband of Earlene Arrington (Selfridge). 

William was born on February 19, 1948 in Medford, MA to the late William and Ruth Arrington. He attended Burlington schools and graduated in 1966. After high school William enrolled in the US Navy in September 1967 and remained in the Navy reserves until 1979.

William had a love for umpiring and refereeing and was a member of the GLSUA (Greater Lowell Softball Umpire Association) as well as a member of IAASO (International Association of Approved Basketball Officials) board 95 for many years. 

Survived by his wife Earlene K. (Selfridge) Arrington of 53 years this month; children, William Arrington and wife Erica of Chelmsford, Rebecca Yankowskas and husband James of Westford, Janice and husband Roger Matheson of Salem, NH. Also survived by his grandchildren, William J. Arrington, Megan Arrington, Jessica Fournier, Julia Fournier, Matthew Arrington, and Zachary Arrington. He leaves two sisters Stacey, Susan and brother-in-law Robert, and one brother Frederick and sister-in-law Karla, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William and Ruth Arrington.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember William for a period of visitation on Thursday September 22, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton, MA. His funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Carlisle Congregational Church, 147 School St., Carlisle, MA. Burial with US Navy Military Honors will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 185 Lake St., Peabody, MA.
