William "Bill" K. Griffin, of Acton, MA, passed away on February 24 at age 85 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on July 28, 1937 to Mary and John Griffin and grew up in Somerville, Massachusetts. He joined the Air Force and was sent to Yale School for Foreign Languages to learn Chinese, after which he spent his service years in Eastern Asia. He graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and spent his whole career of 35 years with Teradyne.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary (Murphy); his children, James and partner Julie, Bill Jr. and his wife Beth, Susan and her wife Karen; many cherished nieces and nephews; and his grandchildren, James Patrick, Joshua, Jake, and Lily, to whom he was happily known as "Pap Pap" and Papa. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, their achievements and the people they became. His wit, wisdom, warmth and positive cheerful nature was evident to all who knew him. He walked through life with gratitude and generosity. His family and friends will miss him dearly. He is survived by his brother Richard, his sister Lois, and pre-deceased by his brother John.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on March 31, 2023, at 10:00AM at the Blessed Trinity Parish - St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 North Main Street, Westford, MA. Burial will be private. Following services at 12:00PM family and friends are invited to gather for a light luncheon and celebrate Bill's life at Il Forno Restaurant, 529 King St. (Route 110), Littleton, MA 01460.
